Supplements are usually compared against each other, which flatters all of them. The more useful comparison is against the interventions that cost nothing and have a far larger evidence base.
The most reliable lever on this list for appetite later in the day. Free, well studied, and effective within a week of doing it consistently.
Poor sleep reliably increases hunger and reduces activity the following day. No supplement compensates for it, and improving it changes more than anything else here.
Unremarkable and effective. Non-exercise activity is a large and underrated share of daily energy expenditure.
Caffeine on its own has modest, well documented effects on alertness and performance. If you drink coffee already, you have this one covered.
Sits on top of the four above, with a smaller and less certain contribution. Its genuine advantage is adherence: it attaches to a habit you keep without asking you to build a new one.
Fix sleep, then breakfast, then daily movement. Once those are steady for a month, you have a baseline worth measuring against — and only then does adding a supplement tell you anything useful. Adding it first means you will never know what did the work.
Supplements are the last five per cent. They are only worth buying once the other ninety-five is in place.
